Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
At Your Small Biz Bestie, I take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, how it’s stored, and what rights you have.
When I say “personal data”, I mean information that can identify you, like your name, email address, phone number, IP address, or anything you submit through a contact form.
I’m based in the UK and I handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Scope
This policy applies to my website yoursmallbizbestie.co.uk and any pages, forms, emails or services provided through it.
My website may include links to third-party websites or tools (for example booking platforms, payment providers, email marketing platforms, or social media). If you click a third-party link, their own privacy policy applies. I’m not responsible for how third parties collect or use your data.
When this policy applies
This policy applies when you:
-
visit my website
-
fill in a form on my site (for example an enquiry form)
-
contact me via email, social media, WhatsApp or messenger
-
become a client and I provide services to you
-
subscribe to my email list (if you choose to)
Note about how this policy was created
Parts of this privacy policy were created using Enzuzo (a privacy and compliance tool) and then tailored to match how my business actually works.
2. Personal Data I Collect
If you contact me or enquire
If you fill in a form, email me, message me on social media, or contact me via phone/WhatsApp, I may collect:
-
your name
-
your email address
-
your phone number (if you provide it)
-
your business name (if relevant)
-
any information you choose to share in your message
Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information.
If you become a client
If you work with me, I may collect and store information needed to deliver the service, such as:
-
contact details (name, email, phone)
-
business details relevant to the work
-
project notes and communications
-
access details to platforms you ask me to work in (for example Wix, MailerLite, ThriveCart, community platforms etc)
If you share login details, I treat them as confidential and only use them to deliver the agreed work.
Payments
Payments are currently handled outside of this website. I don’t collect or store card details via this site.
If I invoice you, I may store basic invoicing records (for example, your name, invoice amount and payment status) for accounting purposes.
Website usage data
At the moment, I don’t intentionally use website analytics or tracking tools to identify you. Like most websites, basic technical logs may still be processed by the website platform/hosting provider for security and performance.
If I add analytics or an email mailing list in future, I’ll update this policy and any cookie settings accordingly.
How I collect your personal data
I collect personal data when you:
-
contact me via email, phone, WhatsApp, social media or a website form
-
become a client and share details needed for me to deliver the service
I may also receive limited personal data from service providers that help the website run (for example, website hosting or email delivery), but only as part of providing the website/service.
3. Cookies
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, phone or tablet) when you visit a website. They help the site work properly, and can also be used to remember preferences or measure how the site is used.
How I use cookies
Right now, I keep things simple. My website may use essential cookies that are needed for the site to function securely and load properly. These are usually set by the website platform (Wix) and help with things like security, performance and basic site functionality.
I do not currently use cookies to:
-
track you across the internet
-
run targeted ads
-
collect detailed analytics about your behaviour
If I add analytics or marketing tools in the future (for example Wix Analytics, Google Analytics or Meta Pixel), I’ll update this policy and, where required, provide the appropriate cookie consent options.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
-
see what cookies are stored
-
delete cookies
-
block cookies
-
choose whether cookies are accepted automatically
Please note: blocking some cookies may affect how the website functions.
4. Retention & Deletion
I will only retain your Personal Data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which that data was collected and to the extent required by applicable law. When I no longer need Personal Data, I will remove it from my systems and/or take steps to anonymise it.
5. Legal requirements
I will only share personal data where I’m legally required to do so (for example, by a court order or to comply with a legal obligation). This is unlikely, but this clause is here for completeness.
6. How I Keep Your Data Safe
I take reasonable steps to keep your personal data safe and secure.
-
My website is hosted on Wix and uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) where appropriate.
-
I don't ask for or store card details on this website.
-
I only access personal data when I need it to respond to you or deliver a service.
-
I use strong passwords and only share access with trusted tools/providers when necessary.
-
If I use third-party providers to process data on my behalf (for example website hosting or email), I expect them to have appropriate security measures in place too.
If there’s ever a data breach involving personal data, I’ll take it seriously and will notify you (and the relevant regulator, if required) in line with UK data protection law.
7. Chlidren's Privacy
My website and services are not intended for children under 16 and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data via this website, please contact me and I’ll delete it.
8. Your Rights for Your Personal Data

If you’re in the UK (or EEA), you have rights over your personal data under data protection law. These include the right to:
-
Access: ask what personal data I hold about you and request a copy
-
Rectification: ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
-
Erasure: ask me to delete your data (where I’m not legally required to keep it)
-

-
Objection: object to me processing your data where I’m relying on legitimate interests
-
Data portability: request a copy of your data in a usable format (where applicable)
-
Withdraw consent: if you’ve opted into marketing, you can unsubscribe at any time (there’s always an unsubscribe link, or you can message me)
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email me at: [your email address]
I may need to confirm your identity before I can respond, to keep your information safe.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) (the UK data protection regulator). My ICO reference number is at the bottom of every page of this website.
9. Changes
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep it accurate and up to date. Any updates will be posted on this page, with the “last updated” date changed at the top. If the changes are significant, I’ll take reasonable steps to notify you where appropriate.
